Mist of Morning Photography Mist of Morning Photography

Q: How would you describe your photography style?

A: Fine art meets journalism; bright, rich, genuine. My intention as a photographer is to tell a story: capturing the mood and feeling of the day as it unfolds, as well as documenting moments and emotions as they come and go. For more about the heart behind this & my background, take a peek at my about page.

Q: What are your rates?

A: Wedding coverage starts at $3,750 and my couples typically invest $5,000 on average for their photography collection. Every wedding & couple are unique, and there is no "one size fits all" for wedding photography, so I'm always open to discussing options & creating custom packages. For complete investment packages, please get in touch!
*Elopements start at $1,950 & portrait sessions start at $600 - contact me for more information.

Q: What does shooting "hybrid" mean?
A: Hybrid means that I shoot in film & digital formats. The color & light captured on film are what I have found to be the richest reproduction of life. I am drawn to the nostalgic feeling that only analogue film seems to be able to document. Of course, there are moments where digital imaging is necessary & helpful (i.e. low light), and that is why I shoot both; the hybrid shooting process allows for each to fill in the gaps.

Q: Do you use backups?

A: Always. I carry at least four camera bodies and four to five lenses with between my second shooter & I for weddings. The images are immediately backed up to two separate locations after your wedding/session for up to one calendar year.

Q: Do you edit all the photos you deliver?

A: Absolutely. I devote hours of our time to editing & retouching your images because I fully believe that individual images should be able to stand alone as a work of art, as well as contribute to the story I am telling about your day. This process is a fundamental part of what I do; I do not deliver RAW or unedited images.

Q: Where are you based? Do you travel?

A: I live just south of Seattle, Washington and absolutely love to travel. Out of state weddings make me do a happy dance! Be sure to check my travel schedule here, and if we are in the same place at the same time, there is no travel fee.

Q: What should I wear to my session?

A: It depends on the type of session, and of course your personal taste, but the most important thing to do is wear something that you love and feel comfortable in! Try to coordinate style & tones with each other without completely matching. Neutral colors and tones are always lovely, but don't be afraid to throw in some patterns/prints as long as they aren't too distracting.

Q: How will we receive our photos?

A: All of your high resolution digital images will be delivered through an online client gallery, which you will be able to share and download from! If you have also ordered other products like prints, albums, or flash drives, you can expect them to arrive at your door a few weeks after the online gallery is posted.

Q: Can we meet you before the wedding?

A: Definitely! It's always a good idea for us to get to know each other before the wedding and have some time to ask the questions and for me to get a feel for what you are looking for. It can be in person at your favorite coffee shop, or online through Skype or Facetime.

Q: We are ready to book! What's next?

A: The first step is to get in contact with me by filling out the form here! To reserve your date, a signed contract & non-refundable retainer fee are required. I will get back to you as soon as possible and get your day booked! I look forward to hearing from you!
