Best of 2019 | A Year End Review

As 2019 draws to a close, I am in the midst of processing all that has happened these last 12 months - it has definitely been an eventful & busy year both in our personal and professional lives!
In March, my husband Conor and I made a church transition (which also meant a job transition for him), and it was tough to say goodbye & make the necessary adjustments. Now that we've had the majority of the year to settle in, things are going really well and we have forged many new relationships with people who have become like family to us here in Washington.
At the beginning of the summer and my busiest season of the year, we discovered a widespread mold issue in our apartment and had to leave pretty suddenly. We were out of a home for weeks which, as you might imagine, was quite stressful with a full wedding schedule. Thankfully, we were eventually able to find some semblance of normal and it led us to buying our first home - a sweet three bedroom condo in SeaTac. We closed in September and have spent the last several months making it ours!
Conor & I were also able to do a good bit of traveling this year, which always fills my cup in a special way. We went home to O'ahu several times and also visited a sizeable list of new places including Vancouver & Victoria B.C., Salt Lake City, Nashville, San Francisco, San Diego, and Los Angeles. Traveling is a tried and true source of inspiration that helps me to look at everything with a more intentional eye, so I've included a lot of that personal imagery here alongside my professional work.
I've had the great privilege of photographing so many stories this past year, of which only a few are here (this post would be much too long if I included every single one), and I am continually reminded of how special my job is. I'm so grateful to God that I get to do photography full time, and though it most certainly isn't easy or glamorous all the time, it challenges me as a person and in my faith as I look to the Lord to provide for me.
Thank you to all the couples and families who have trusted me with documenting your lives, I've witnessed a whole lot of incredible moments and am beyond honored to be a part of your stories. Capturing your joy & commitment is why I truly love what I do. I cannot wait for what the new year and new decade will bring! -
